Built with Soul — that’s not just a slogan, it’s how we approach every single home we create. At HyggeHut, each house begins with care, patience, and deep respect for natural materials.
Here’s a look inside the process — from carefully selected logs to a fully finished tiny log house. Step by step, we shape not just a building, but a home you’ll truly feel connected to.
We start by carefully selecting high-quality logs with the right size and natural shape. These logs are thick — at least 20 cm — and form the backbone of your HyggeHut.
Once selected, the logs are placed into a drying chamber for 4 to 6 weeks.
Why is this important?
Drying reduces moisture, helping prevent shrinkage, cracking, and movement in the future. It’s essential for long-lasting strength and stability.
The building begins with a waterproof plywood base and 100 mm PIR insulation under the floor to ensure excellent energy performance.
This solid, insulated base becomes the platform for the log walls.
Log by log, the walls are laid on the insulated floor. Each log is connected using long structural screws. This prevents the wood from shifting and keeps the house strong — even during transport or crane lifting.
Between every row, we add insulation to improve energy efficiency.
Once the structure is up, the logs are sandblasted. This enhances the surface texture, strengthens the wood, and brings out its natural character.
Then the house is painted according to the chosen finish.
Next, we install solid wood-framed windows and begin constructing the roof.
The roof is insulated with 200 mm mineral wool and prepared to support a natural grass roof, if desired. To keep insects out while allowing air to circulate, we install a mosquito net under the eaves of the roof. This discreet addition helps prevent bugs from entering the roof structure and keeps your home more comfortable in the warmer months.
Inside the house, we take care of everything.
All electric and plumbing systems are hidden — neatly installed inside walls or special channels. We use only certified CE-marked materials.
The house also comes with electric floor heating and durable waterproof laminate flooring.
We finish by installing the kitchen, lighting, and bathroom fixtures.
Finally, mirror-effect solar films are added to the windows — giving your home privacy and protection from the summer sun.
Depending on production queue, the full process takes 2 to 4 months from start to delivery.
Each house is handcrafted and built with care — and that takes time, but it’s worth the wait.
